I have gushed about Anvil before, and now I have more reasons! Yes, Anvil just came out with its Spring 2011 Cocktail Menu, and you can find it here and here. What follows is copied directly from the Anvil blog, so don’t think I stole it or anything.
Holy cow, I am excited, though. Especially about this one, the Royal Kris: Gin, Batavia Arrack, Lime, Passion Fruit Syrup, Sriracha, Seltzer. I may not be the biggest fan of arrack, but I like the idea of it. What I am a fan of is Sriracha. I love that stuff. It is like my crack. My salt and pepper. I can’t wait to try this drink.

La Soldadera and The Brave cocktail taste very good with Don Cuco Sotol! I hope my spots in LA and Hollywood are taking note!
Ashamedly, my stock includes neither sotol nor mezcal. I will have to take your advice into account, although my local Spec’s doesn’t sell Don Cuco. Perhaps I can find it elsewhere. Thanks for the tip!
I have a correction here, as well. I was confusing Batavia Arrack with arak, the anise-flavored liquor from the Middle East. I was reading about rum and came across a description of batavia arrack as an Indonesian version distilled from sugarcane, similar to rum. Interesting.
