Houston
- A mural of St. Arnold! Graffiti artist Mario Enrique Figueroa, Jr., aka GONZO247, has created a mural for St. Arnold Brewing Company that is now visible as a billboard overlooking I-10. Definitely check out the time-lapse video. It’s amazing to watch this guy work.
- A new downtown dance bar, The Nightingale Room, is set to open sometime soon. Can’t wait to see this new project from the people behind Anvil, Julep, OKRA, etc.
- Gray’s Public House now open. They may be a sports bar, but it’s the beer selection that will draw you in. Over 50 canned beers, that sounds great to me! And they have an awesome name, too.
- Whole Foods Brewery! Yes, a Houston Whole Foods is going to have a brewery…inside the Whole Foods. Yes, you did read that right. Now all they need is childcare inside. And shopping just got a whole lot better.
- Prohibition is now open in downtown Houston. They have a huge restaurant/bar and an even bigger theater in the space that was once the first silent theater in Houston, opened in 1912. That’s Houston history right there. Welcome back, Prohibition.
Austin
- Draft cocktails in Austin. Eater has a great review/lineup of Austin spots to get great draft cocktails. Too bad I never go to Austin.
- Austin bar Drinks opens on Cesar Chavez. Sounds like a chill place. Has all of the standbys with a nice looking patio. Perfect.
Dallas
- Dallas has a couple more cocktail bars, according to the Dallas Morning News. Henry’s Majestic and The Gin Mill. The Headless Manhattan cocktail sounds amazing!
Other Texas News
- Marble Falls brewer has its beers on the market. Maybe they have been around for a few months already, but I had not heard of Save the World Brewing Company. I look forward to their Texas take on Belgian styles.
